About the Leader

Jerry pic for legacyJerry Tews served as parish pastor in Canada, Illinois, and Wisconsin and as hospital chaplain (eight units of Clinical Pastoral Education) at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. For eleven years he was the Director and Pastoral Counselor of the Wholistic Health Center of Mendota, Illinois, working with Drs. Granger Westberg, Don Tubesing, and others during the pioneering years of whole person health care.

He has over twenty five years experience in applying the Family Systems Theory to life within a congregation or institution. A certified consultant for congregations in conflict he uses the Bridgebuilder Process developed by Dr. Peter Steinke, and as a trained Healthy Congregations facilitator is certified to help church leaders apply family system theory in their personal and professional lives. He taught family systems theory to seminarians as an Adjunct Professor at the Lutheran School of Theology in Hyde Park, Illinois.

He has four married sons and seven grandchildren. He lives with his wife Lynn in Stoughton, Wisconsin.  In addition to enjoying wood turning, he has recently become an active apiarist (beekeeper).  From time to time he will blog about his experiences in the Bees Blog page of this site.
